Are you looking for things to do in Gettysburg in the evening? Civil War Tails is one answer to that question! We are open late on most evenings, so come on in!

Hours: 

Because our museum is family-run, there will be days that we close for family activities, so check here for updates as you plan your visit. Any special hours are listed below our regular hours.

 

Regular Hours (April – November):

  • Monday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday: CLOSED
  • Thursday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. (CLOSED on the First Thursday of each month)
  • Friday: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Sunday: CLOSED
  • Closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday

Winter Hours (December – March):

  • Monday: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday: CLOSED
  • Thursday: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. (CLOSED on the First Thursday of each month)
  • Friday: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Sunday: CLOSED
  • Closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Civil War Tails is OPEN on Memorial Day and Labor Day from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. 

Special Hours:

  • Monday, June 3 – Civil War Tails will CLOSE EARLY at 3:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 7 – Saturday, June 8 – Civil War Tails will be CLOSED.
  • Friday, June 14 – Saturday, June 15 – Civil War Tails will be CLOSED.
  • Civil War Tails will be OPEN on Thursday, July 4, but CLOSED on Thursday, July 11.

Pricing:

  • Adults: $7.00
  • Children ages 6-12: $5.00
  • Children 5 and under: FREE
  • Group rates (10 people or more):
    • Adults: $5.00
    • Children ages 6-12: $3.00

Please contact us in advance so that we can make arrangements to accommodate your group and parking needs.

Location:

We are located at 785 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.

From the center of town, travel south down Baltimore Street. Continue on Baltimore Street slightly left through the traffic light where Steinwehr Avenue splits off. We will be on the right just after the curve in the road.

From the Gettysburg Visitors Center, travel northward up Baltimore Pike towards town for one mile. We will be on the left just after you pass the Evergreen and National Cemeteries.
